When it comes to rare diseases, the biggest barrier isn’t just awareness—it’s access to the right education, delivered to the right audiences, in ways that actually improve care.

Medlive partners with the National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) to co-create education that goes beyond isolated programs, building sustained, strategic collaborations that improve how patients and providers navigate rare diseases.

In our webinar, Breaking Barriers: Overcoming Challenges in Education Partnerships and Technology Integration, Alissa Stone, Director of Strategic Partnerships at Medlive and Katie Kowalski, Associate Director of Education at NORD, share how this partnership is helping both patients and providers navigate the complexity of rare diseases through patient-centered learning design, outcomes-driven reporting, and a deeply integrated advocacy network.

“Working with Medlive, we know that we’re making a positive impact. They have a platform that tracks outcomes, so we can see the improvements, pre- and post-education, in knowledge. And most importantly, we can see that we’re having an impact on clinical experience.”

– Katie Kowalski, MPH, Associate Director of Education, NORD

Why this matters

Educational partnerships require bold solutions and innovative strategies to address complex challenges. And the stakes have never been higher than in rare disease education, with nearly 10,000 rare diseases impacting millions, yet only 11% of medical schools offering adequate training in clinical applications of genetics.

Recognizing this gap, Medlive and NORD embarked on a transformative collaboration in 2019 to improve the learner experience for clinicians, caregivers and patients. Now, with 132 educational sessions delivered to date that have impacted over 60,000 attendees, Alissa Stone and Katie Kowalski are sharing their top strategies for leveraging technology to build impactful programs that scale. Advocacy leaders, Medlive partners, and those exploring impactful collaborations will walk away with sharpened skills and a deeper understanding of how to create measurable change.

In this webinar, we explore:

  • The real-world impact of 130+ Medlive/NORD educational activities, reaching over 60,000 learners and awarding more than 24,000 CME credits

  • Why partner pages and embedded CME tools on advocacy sites like NORD’s are helping reach learners where they are

  • How outcomes data—like 93% of HCPs reporting positive impacts on their clinical practice—are used to continuously evolve education strategies
